it's delightful...it's delicious...it's dawesome

Is never done.

Never.

(hence, the lack of posts)

Tonight, after I put my kids to bed, I hear footsteps.

“Clara! Go back to bed.”

Then Ellis starts to cry.

My arms full of baby boy,

I hear footsteps again.

“Mom. I’m not sleepy.”

I give in.

(When it is two against one I become a “spineless jelly” and my resolve turns to mush.)

After putting Ellis back in his crib,

When I get back to my bed

this is the sight that greets me,

It’s a good thing kids are so stinking cute otherwise I don’t know how I could do this job.

It’s HARD, yo!

Today this darling little girl gave me joy, stress, frustration, happiness, laughs – all in one short day. When she came home from preschool she showed me a picture she’d worked on of a squirrel and two acorns and explained to me that it was me, “A squirrel and two coconuts.”

I love this kid.

And finally,

She sleeps!

I hope she has sweet dreams

&

I hope you do too!

P.S. & BTW, I LOVE the song by Kate Bush “This Woman’s Work” (I’m listening to it now.) Jan’s out of town so I don’t know how to link to it. You’ll have to trust me, it’s a treat for the ears. Actually, Kate Bush has a kinda funny voice, but the song is so dramatic. I likes me some drama. Must be why I like this kid so much — she is FULL of it, drama, that is.

I love that Clara girl too! Mom told me about the “squirrel and coconuts,” which made me miss her!

Also, Tyce Diorio choreographed a song to “This Woman’s Work” on So You Think You Can Dance 3 seasons ago. It isn’t the orig song, but still nice.

It’s hard yo! You worded it perfectly!! As I type this little comment my sweet Fin is up in his bed screaming ‘I NO GO FOR NAP!!!’…and I didn’t get a wink of sleep last night due to coughs and sniffles. It is a blessing they are so darn cute, you are so right…otherwise this gig would be a gazillion time harder! Fin, sorry bud, but today mama wins the nap battle, so your just going to have to deal!!

Love that little girl. And the Millie-meister, too. (And Ellis, OF course!) Tonight we listened to the fairytale voice over not once, but twice on the way to Salt Lake. The story is beautiful, poignant, deep and Millie’s interpretation is brilliant. Really, really good stuff, Lize. I just love the whole concept, and you’re realizing everything so beautifully. In fact, I wish I could be there to help out with the shoot! Best of luck next week. I know it will turn out great.
